From developing an idea to organising a meeting, to making an exhibition; all types of projects need some kind of project management in order to make them successful. Whether you are an (independent) curator, a project leader / coordinator or another cultural professional, it can be very useful to have some practical project management skills. Sometimes you will only need a time schedule as a tool for yourself, but in some cases there is need for a project team with a script, a budget plan and an accountability structure.

This course will walk through all the basics of developing, executing and monitoring a project and is intended to familiarize participants with time schedules, budgets plans and monitoring tools. It furthermore will discuss a lot of examples, good and bad to show the diversity of projects and possibilities. Within this course participants are asked to develop a (fictitious or real) project and to do a small assignment for every week’s course.
