How can art professionals work towards greater diversity and equity in the arts? Rooted in anti-racist methodologies, this transformative 2-day workshop will equip participants with invaluable tools and strategies to foster solidarity, advocacy, and accountability in the arts.

During the first session, we will explore the profound meaning of diversity and its significance in our lives. By raising awareness about unconscious biases and their impact, this session will prepare participants with practical strategies to reduce their influence. Additionally, we'll learn how to examine various contexts through the lens of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), focusing on their application to exhibitions, museums, and arts organizations.

The second session is dedicated to allyship and advocacy in the arts, designed to foster solidarity within our community. We’ll explore how the arts can become a powerful tool for advocacy, amplifying important voices and causes. Moreover, we'll delve into the notion of accountability, both within your organization and when engaging with the wider community.

This 2-day workshop is part of the 7-month Inclusive Curatorial Practices Program, which explores the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, age, and disability in curating.
