This course will give you the tools to design your own book, catalogue or art publication and make it ready for print. From collecting and editing material (text and images), to using design tools, to choosing printing methods, binding and finishings, this course will allow you to create your own publication from scratch.

With step-by-step guidance and through a series of inspiring examples and exercises you will be able to organize, structure and develop your personal project. At the end of the course you will have selected, edited and designed your publication contents in order to prepare artwork files ready for production.

Art Publications: Design It Yourself gives you the skills to design your own book or catalogue. This is a complementary course to Art Publications from Start to Finish, which focuses on how to get your book published and distributed. It is not necessary to have completed this course beforehand or to have prior design experience.

We will use the following software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat
