Duration
The ‘Abu Dhabi Curatorial Program: National Museums' is a four-month online curriculum that combines learning and practice for emerging curators of national museums in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, culture and history. This program has been designed for the staff of the Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. It is composed of a tailored series of theoretical and practical courses, interactive live sessions with experts, and practical exercises that put knowledge into practice.
Over 4 months, we will focus on the two sides of curatorial practice: theoretical knowledge including museum history and intangible cultural heritage; as well as practical skills such as exhibition design and developing engaging public programs.
With the support of dedicated lecturers who bring extensive real-world expertise to the classroom, participants will put their learning into practice with ongoing assignments and discussion based on their current professional work. The vision of the program is to equip future leaders in museums with the key curatorial skills and knowledge to develop multi-dimensional, engaging and innovative cultural projects.
