This Program is by application, due February 22, 2025. Applications are currenlty closed.

Exhibition design shapes how audiences experience and connect with art. To create impactful exhibitions, you need a solid understanding of space, content, and audience needs. In this 6-month online program, you'll master the core principles of exhibition design, enabling you to translate curatorial concepts into thoughtful and engaging exhibition spaces.

Through a combination of theory and hands-on learning, this program guides you along the entire exhibition design process—from concept to implementation. You will develop skills in spatial design and planning, project management, and using technology to create dynamic, accessible exhibitions. With interactive sessions, critiques, and expert feedback, you’ll sharpen your abilities and learn how to bring your creative ideas to life.

What You Will Learn:

  • Exhibition Design Fundamentals: Understand the history, roles, and workflows of exhibition-making.
  • Working with Space: Learn to interpret curatorial briefs, evaluate spaces, and create effective layouts and displays.
  • Creating Engaging Art Experiences: Use lighting, multimedia, and interactivity to captivate your audience.
  • Project Management: Plan, produce, and install exhibitions efficiently.

Over the course of the program, you will develop your own exhibition design project, receiving expert feedback and collaborating with peers. By the end, you'll present a proposal that showcases your ability to turn curatorial concepts into detailed, practical exhibition designs.
